Sonos Play 5 All-In-One Wireless Music Player Review

Sonos Play 5

Sonos Play 5 All-In-One Wireless Music Player – Awesome!

If you’re truly a music junkie, you’ve got music on all the time. You’ve got play list after play list on your computer. You use iTunes, Pandora, Rhapsody, Napster, and Sirius. You probably dig world music and whatever they’re playing in South America and the Fiji Islands. You might even have a fair collection of vinyl.

And that’s why you need a Sonos Play 5 (formerly known as the S5 ZonePlayer Starter Kit with BR100 ZoneBridge). If you’ve heard other Sonos products before, you know how great they sound. For instance, the Sonos ZonePlayer 120 Amplified Wireless Multi-Room Music System is incredibly clear. But if you want a system where you don’t have to use with external speakers -try the Sonos Play 5 Music Player.

Bose SL2 Wireless Surround Sound Link Review

Bose SL2

Bose SL2 wireless surround link -
Wireless audio delivery system for rear speakers

I set up my first surround sound system about ten years ago, and I’ve never looked back. Surround sound just makes everything better – movies sound like you’re in the cinema, conversations on TV sound like they’re right at your table, and any CD becomes a private show in an acoustically tuned concert hall. But to set up surround sound, you need rear speakers, which means wires, which means one of two things: stringing wires along the ceiling (ugly) or floor (dangerous), or drilling holes in the wall. There’s got to be another option.

There are plenty of wireless speakers on the market today, and although some of them are from the top brand names, I assumed they wouldn’t be suitable for surround sound use. There would probably be a lag, or there would be static caused by all the other electronics in the area. I’m pleased to report, however, that I was totally wrong. There are a few options for rear wireless receivers, but the one with the strongest showing online is the Bose SL2 wireless surround link.

Weather Resistant Indoor Outdoor Wireless Speaker Review

Indoor Outdoor Wireless Speaker

Enjoy Outdoor Life With a Brookstone Weather Resistant Indoor Outdoor Wireless Speaker

An old friend of mine is visiting from Italy for the summer, and he’s renting an apartment with an enormous terrace. Of course we spend every evening outside with a couple drinks, listening to music and catching up. The first day, we ran into a problem with the cord from the computer to the speaker. With the computer inside, away from the exceedingly rare rain shower and the abundant dust, the speaker just doesn’t reach far enough. (It’s really an enormous terrace.) He’s only here for the summer, so he doesn’t want to get an elaborate system, but music is a must, and we don’t want to go inside.

So we were started half-heartedly browsing for a wireless speaker that we could use outside. We didn’t really think we’d find one, or if we did, it’d be too expensive to bother. We were pleasantly surprised to find the Brookstone Weather Resistant Indoor Outdoor Wireless Speaker, which was exactly what we were looking for.

Audio Unlimited 900Mhz Wireless Speakers

There are probably a hundred different uses for outdoor speakers. Maybe you need them for outdoor parties, to hear the TV from the kitchen, to listen to music around the house while you do chores, to enhance the sound for someone who’s hard of hearing, or to bring the sound closer to you without having to blast speakers in a large room. There are some expensive speaker kits that will excel in all of these situations, but if you’re looking for something that’s a little more reasonably priced, you need to serious comparison shopping.
